This impressive self-standing specimen from Uruguay features large dogtooth calcite crystals completely coated in vinfant purple amethyst, giving it the appearance of a glittering amethyst crystal while preserving the underlying calcite form. A smaller calcite crystal emerges from one side, and exposed edges reveal beautiful green agate banding that frames the specimen with beautiful color contrast.
