This unusual piece from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil features a vibrant carpet of tiny amethyst crystals accented by scattered white crystal clusters, giving it the appearance of a blooming amethyst flower. The rich purple color and fine sparkle cover nearly the entire face, while the reverse reveals an equally interesting display of flat, glassy clear quartz crystals and subtle green mineralization.

What I love most about this piece is that it doesn’t really have a “back.” Both sides offer something completely different, making it easy to display and enjoy from any angle. Pieces like this are a fun departure from the typical geode and have a delicate quality to them.
