This huge cutbase is packed with contrast and unusual crystal habits. Two completely different formations of calcite share the same piece- one is a large hexagonal crystal coated in sparkling black goethite druzy, while the other is a gemmy, sharply-terminated calcite with delicate goethite inclusions suspended inside. Several smaller sharp calcite crystals also emerge from the larger hexagonal crystal, creating an incredible multi-generational growth display.

The calcites are perched on a bed of soft lavender amethyst, with a reddish agate forming at the base. Every angle reveals something new, from the glittering goethite coating to the transparent calcite faces and the contrasting textures throughout. It’s an eye-catching display specimen that showcases just how diverse mineral growth can be.
