Etched Spinel-Law Twin Fluorite with Schorl & Hyalite Opal- Erongo, Namibia

An incredibly unusual fully etched spinel-law twinned fluorite from Erongo, Namibia, with beautiful icy blue to blue-green transparency and deep purple color zoning running through the crystal. Numerous dark needle-like schorl tourmaline inclusions can be seen suspended throughout the fluorite, especially when backlit, while natural dissolution has etched the entire specimen into a sculptural form while still preserving its distinctive twinned growth. Under UV light, a small rusty orange-brown area erupts in an intense neon green fluorescence consistent with hyalite opal (Opal-AN), a known association with fluorite from Erongo.
