Exceptional Chalcedony-Coated Selenite Blades— Deccan Traps
Exceptional Chalcedony-Coated Selenite Blades— Deccan Traps
A surreal and sculptural cluster of elongated selenite crystals, naturally coated in a fine druse of sparkling white and blue chalcedony. Unlike true pseudomorphs where the original mineral has been completely replaced, this piece still contains intact selenite within — making it a rare example of chalcedony encrusting selenite, not replacing it.
The result is a dynamic and frosty formation that appears almost otherworldly, with each arm of the cluster glittering under light like sugar-coated ice. From some angles, subtle smoky hues from the selenite core peek through the translucent chalcedony veil.
Indian chalcedony-selenite combinations like this are increasingly hard to source, especially in this size and complexity. An aesthetic, mineralogically intriguing specimen for both collectors and lovers of natural design.
No damage, no repairs.
