A beautiful little Casteel Mine piece featuring a single golden yellow calcite crystal rising right out of a sparkly matrix. The calcite has a great elongated shape with a glassy, gemmy termination and a rich golden color that becomes especially bright under direct light.

One of my favorite details is a small patch of microcrystalline chalcopyrite on the matrix, showing flashes of gold along with subtle colorful iridescence when viewed from different angles. The contrast between the clean calcite crystal, sugary matrix, and tiny metallic chalcopyrite makes this such a fun little Missouri specimen.
