INSANE!! Massive Lightning Strike Quartz Point- Diamantina | River Walkers Minerals

Weight: 9.64 lbs
Dimensions: 9 x 6 x 4”
Locality: Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Brazil 🇧🇷

An absolutely extraordinary, nearly 10-pound lightning-struck quartz point from the mountains of Diamantina, Brazil, a region known for its intense thunderstorms!

This massive specimen features at least SEVEN distinct areas of intricate, branching etch patterns attributed to lightning activity. When lightning strikes quartz, the extreme heat and electrical discharge can alter the crystal’s surface, sometimes leaving behind fascinating, glassy textures and delicate, branching formations.

The detail throughout this piece is incredible! The patterns resemble tiny ferns or frozen electrical currents, spreading across multiple crystal faces in incredibly intricate formations. These striking textures contrast beautifully with the quartz’s natural clarity.

Despite its impressive size and unusual surface features, this specimen has a beautifully preserved, intact termination with lightning strike markings up there as well. Its sheer weight, dramatic aesthetics, and remarkable surface details make it an exceptional collector’s piece.

A truly spectacular example of nature’s raw power, and certainly not something you come across often.
