This sizable Hadrosaur leg bone fragment comes from the famous Hell Creek Formation, one of the most celebrated fossil localities in North America. Dating to approximately 66 million years ago, Hell Creek preserves a remarkable snapshot of the final days of the dinosaurs.
Hadrosaurs, often called “duck-billed dinosaurs,” were among the most successful herbivores of the Late Cretaceous. They traveled in herds and could grow to over 30 feet in length. Their strong limbs supported these massive animals as they moved across ancient floodplains alongside Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex.
This specimen represents a section of a large leg bone and displays excellent natural texture and coloration. The cross-sectional structure and weathered surface provide a fascinating look at the internal anatomy and mineralization that occurred over millions of years. Pieces like this offer collectors a tangible connection to one of the last dinosaur ecosystems before the end-Cretaceous extinction event. This piece has been naturally and professionally repaired.
