This impressive jasper cutbase from Uruguay is packed with natural textures and fascinating details that reveal something new from every angle. The interior is covered in an expansive landscape of delicate stalactitic growths, creating a sculptural appearance that feels very cave-like.
Scattered throughout the specimen are a couple calcite crystals that fluoresce pink/orange under UV light. The calcites are sprinkled with bright pyrite crystals, while the stalactites themselves are coated in an exceptionally fine dusting of pyrite that gives the entire surface a subtle, sparkling shimmer when the light catches it.
The contrasting grey jasper host frames the interior beautifully, with exposed orbicular cross-sections of ancient stalactites visible along the edges, offering a glimpse into how this remarkable formation developed over time. With its combination of stalactitic textures, UV-reactive calcite, sparkling pyrite, and substantial display size, this is a specimen that stands out both in natural daylight and under specialized lighting.
