This impressive Mosasaur tooth comes from the famous phosphate deposits near Khouribga, Morocco and dates back roughly 66–72 million years to the Late Cretaceous. Measuring 2 inches long, this is a nicely preserved example from one of the ocean’s most formidable predators.

Mosasaurs were giant marine reptiles that ruled the seas during the age of the dinosaurs. Despite their appearance, they were not dinosaurs but rather distant relatives of modern monitor lizards and snakes. Some species reached lengths of over 50 feet and occupied the top of the food chain, feeding on fish, ammonites, turtles, and even other mosasaurs.

This specimen displays beautiful natural caramel-brown enamel with fine longitudinal striations and a graceful curve characteristic of these ancient predators. The tooth retains excellent shape and would make a great addition to any fossil collection or cabinet of curiosities.

A tangible reminder of the ancient seas that once covered much of our planet, this tooth belonged to an apex predator that swam alongside ammonites, giant fish, and other remarkable marine life during the final chapter of the dinosaur age.
