Megalodon Tooth 5.6”- South Carolina | River Walkers Minerals

This 5.6-inch fossil tooth comes from the extinct shark Carcharocles megalodon and was recovered in South Carolina, an area well known for its Miocene–Pliocene marine deposits.

The tooth displays a naturally well-preserved blade with long vertical nutrient grooves, a solid and complete bourlette, and a stable, fully original root. The coloration and streaking across the enamel are natural mineralization features from its time in sediment. The specimen shows no repairs, no restoration, and no fillers of any kind—all structures present are original to the fossil.

A tooth of this size would have come from a massive adult Megalodon, estimated at roughly 50–56 feet in length based on established tooth-to-body scaling!
