Megalodon Tooth 5.6” - South Carolina | River Walkers Minerals
This 5.6-inch fossil tooth comes from the extinct shark Carcharocles megalodon and was found in South Carolina, an area well known for its Miocene–Pliocene marine fossil deposits.
The tooth features naturally preserved enamel with long, visible nutrient grooves, a complete bourlette, and a stable, original root. Its color patterns and mineral staining are the result of natural fossilization in local sediments. This tooth has no repairs, no restoration, and no fillers. All surfaces are original fossil material.
A Megalodon tooth of this size would have come from a very large adult shark, estimated at roughly 50–56 feet in length based on established tooth-to-body scaling used by modern paleontologists.
