920g Moldavite in Situ VERY RARE
920g Moldavite in Situ VERY RARE
This is an exceptional piece of moldavite found in situ, exactly where it landed 15 million years ago. Discovering moldavite still embedded in its original matrix is incredibly rare, especially in such a large, over 2lbs specimen.
Moldavite was formed during the Miocene epoch when a massive meteorite struck Earth at an angle, creating the Nördlinger Ries crater near Stuttgart, Germany. The impact superheated terrestrial silicates, which were then ejected into the atmosphere as molten glass. These particles cooled rapidly before falling back to Earth. Today, moldavite is primarily found in the Moldau River Valley in the Czech Republic, almost 450 kilometers from the original impact site.
If you're seeking a truly unique piece that no one else will have, this is the perfect choice.
This piece was bought directly from the man who mined it. It will come with the original certificate of authenticity. Please note the matrix is flaky, and will result in some unavoidable crumbs when unboxing.
