Optical Quartz Cluster with Record Keepers – Peña Blanca, Colombia
This is a museum-quality optical quartz specimen from the high-altitude deposits of Peña Blanca, Colombia — a region known for producing some of the most gemmy and geometrically refined quartz crystals in the world. But this piece goes a step further.
At 146 grams, it features a sharp, water-clear focal crystal displaying well-defined record keepers etched into the termination — rare, natural triangle formations highly prized by collectors and metaphysical enthusiasts alike. Just as striking is the horizontal crystal growing out of the back of the main point, intersecting at a near-right angle. This unique growth habit, often referred to as “cross formation,” is highly sought after and rarely seen with such clarity and proportion.
The quartz is perched on a white crystalline matrix with subtle iron staining, adding visual depth without detracting from the main architecture. There are no repairs — just pristine, unaltered growth from deep within the Colombian Andes.
