Sericho Pallasite Meteorite — Stony-Iron, PMG | Isiolo, Kenya 875 Carats
Discovered in 2016 near Sericho, Kenya, this rare pallasite meteorite represents one of the most scientifically important and visually stunning classes of extraterrestrial material. Pallasites are believed to have formed at the core-mantle boundary of a differentiated asteroid, where molten metal from the core met solid silicate mantle—resulting in this breathtaking fusion of iron-nickel alloy and olivine crystals.
The olivine in Sericho ranges from translucent green to golden-yellow, with many specimens exhibiting gem-quality peridot clarity. These crystals are embedded in a solid matrix of Fe-Ni metal that often displays a polished mirror-like luster when cut and etched.
Sericho material is relatively stable compared to other pallasites, but care should still be taken to store it in low-humidity conditions. This specimen has been professionally stabilized and lightly sealed to preserve integrity and prevent oxidation.
Whether you’re a planetary science enthusiast, high-end collector, or just someone who appreciates deep space wonders—this is a literal fragment of planetary formation history in your hands.
