An incredible self-standing display piece from Artigas, Uruguay, carved and polished from a substantial formation of quartz and agate while leaving its natural amethyst pocket completely exposed. The center is lined with intensely saturated grape-jelly purple amethyst that is completely natural, creating a dramatic contrast against the icy, translucent quartz and softly banded agate surrounding it. The freeform polish follows the natural shape of the specimen, giving it a sculptural appearance while keeping the sparkling crystalline cavity through the center. At nearly 6.5 lbs and 9.5 inches tall, this is a beautiful statement piece that looks completely different as the light moves through the translucent outer material.
