This beautiful cutbase specimen from Artigas, Uruguay features a sparkling blanket of sugary quartz on top of deep purple amethyst accented by buttery yellow calcite and contrasting black goethite. The highlight is a well-formed hexagonal calcite crystal that juts from the center of the piece, its surface coated in glittering sugar amethyst. Running alongside the edge is a striking band of black goethite that adds dramatic contrast and texture.
