A beautifully balanced specimen from the Wutong Mine, Liubao, Cangwu County, Guangxi, China — a deposit renowned for its pastel pinks, violets, and vast crystal textures.

This piece shows off a soft, radiant layer of pink rhodochrosite crystals blanketing a bed of clear quartz, both front and back. Their combination gives the surface a delicate brilliance. Scattered across the rhodochrosite are sharp purple fluorite cubes, perfectly perched and undisturbed while adding bright color contrast and dimension. Beneath the display face, you can find subtle pockets of sparkling pyrite giving the piece even more texture.

Geological Note: Within the Wutong deposit, minerals formed as hot, mineral-rich fluids circulated through ancient limestone layers. Quartz crystallized first, lining the cavities with glassy structure. Later, manganese-bearing fluids deposited rhodochrosite, creating the soft pink layer seen today. In the final stages, as fluid chemistry shifted, fluorite began to crystallize on top — its vivid purple cubes contrasting beautifully against the pink below.

Each layer records a change deep within the Earth, revealing a geological story of heat, time, and transformation that can be read directly through its colors.
